How we brew it

Whisk it like we would.

Simple brew guides for matcha, hojicha and genmaicha — the way we make them at home.

Matcha cup

Brew matcha by the cup you want.

1
Choose the cup
Latte matcha is for milk-forward daily cups. Usucha / clear matcha is for drinking matcha without milk.
2
Sift first
A fine sieve keeps the texture smooth and helps the matcha foam more evenly.
3
Add warm water
Use water just off the boil, not boiling hot. Start with a small pour before building the drink.
4
Whisk or build
Whisk quick W motions for Usucha / clear matcha, or pour over milk and ice for latte-friendly grades.

Range guide

Compare the cup before you choose

Use the chart to compare umami, sweetness, colour, aroma and grade. Mu Hojicha and Dao Genmaicha sit beside the range as tea powders, so the choice stays clear.
